About The Series

“Without music, life would be a mistake.” - Friedrich Nietzsche

The series is performed at The Joint Theater at 301 Main Street in North Little Rock, AR. It is a 100 seat theater with a proscenium stage. There is a full bar with service in the theater.

Jazz At The Joint is yet another piece of the artistic vision being built brick by brick , day by day in the Argenta Arts District. John Gaudin has created an environment and the organizations to bring world class artists of all stripes to Central Arkansas in an effort to lift the arts into a place of prominence alongside economic development and opportunity.

Potluck and Poison Ivy, the southern story-telling and music series, takes the stories and songs and poems of southern artists and puts them on stage to share with the audience the uniquely southern themes that arise in southern art. Also you get a little something to eat as well.

The Argenta Acoustic Music Series is the brainchild of Steve Davison, a professional musician and artist based in Little Rock.  The series brings guitarists from around the world, France, England, India, Canada, Italy and Japan and of course the US. This year will be the 6th season of the series as it has become internationally known as one of the best acoustic music series in the country.

Jazz At The Joint is our new adventure to create and rebuild a vibrant scene for jazz music in Central Arkansas.  Headed and curated by Ted Ludwig, the renowned 7 string jazz guitarist who made his home in Little Rock after Katrina blew him up from New Orleans. We are very excited about this new series and the artists it will bring to the Argenta Arts District.

Also we are affiliated with the ACANSA Arts Festival of the South which occurs each September in multiple locations around the city. We fold our artists into the festival to support this fantastic festival which is becoming a major influence in the arts in our area.

Our venue for Jazz at the Joint is THE JOINT, a cabaret theater and coffeehouse in the heart of the Argenta Arts District in North Little Rock, offering live entertainment 5 nights a week and the best locally-roasted coffee in Central Arkansas from morning till night. THE JOINT is also home to Arkansas’ number one professional comedy team, The Main Thing, starring veteran performers whose work has been featured on Saturday Night Live, Off-Broadway, on Dick Clark’s United Radio Network, and in thousands of live stage performances all around the country.
